Recently, according tomedia reports, egypt recently found a series of animal mummies, the first discovery of the cubs mummies. The large number of mummies found in Sagala, south of Cairo, where Egypt’s antiquities minister said hundreds of animal mummies, including cats, birds, crocodiles and lion cubs, have been found. A total of five suspected lion cubs have been identified, with three awaiting scans.
Egyptian archaeologists say it is also the first time a lion mummies have been found in the world.
Archaeologists often find mummified cats, but there are few relics about lions. But it follows the discovery of lion bones for the first time in the Sagala region in 2004, revealing the lion’s sacred status in ancient Egypt.
The Sagala region has at least 11 pyramids, including the ladder pyramids, as well as the tombs of hundreds of ancient officials, ranging from the first dynasty (2920 BC to 2770 BC) to the Coptic period (395-642).
