Microsoft has just pushed the KB4577063 cumulative update to Windows 10 2004 users, and the system version number will rise to 19041.546 after installation. As an optional update, users need to manually check through Windows Update or download a separate offline installer. It’s important to note that if you’re already experiencing the Windows 10 2020 October update, the version number will change to 19042.546 after patching.
Windows 10 Build 19041.546 brings many improvements, such as solutions to Windows Linux subsysys system (WSL) and network problems.
If you have a large number of devices, you can also get the offline installer (KB4577063) via the official website link, and then perform a manual update for the device.
Microsoft added in its change log that the KB4577063 also fixed an issue that caused games that use Spatial Audio to stop working, as well as two improvements to mitigate performance issues with the Windows Mixed Reality (MR) platform.
Second, as Windows Latest noted in its September report, the Windows Linux subsysysys system (WSL) has always had “bugs that can’t find elements.”
The issue prevented the Running Linux subsysysm from being properly supported in Windows 10, and Microsoft has acknowledged that the issue was introduced by the Tuesday Patch update for the month.
Microsoft said last month that it was preparing to offer a fix and would soon push it to all users. Earlier, Microsoft had provided the Insider tester with a WSL fix, which was officially fixed today in KB4577063.
In addition, Microsoft provides a number of bug fixes for the May 10, 2020 Windows Update update, such as the issue of prompting “Inability to access the Internet” on the notification area or taskbar.
At the same time, Microsoft fixed a network issue with a WWAN LTE (4G) modem that prevented Windows 10 from displaying “Inability to access the Internet” in the notification area when the device recovers from sleep.
Finally, KB4577063 fixes an issue that stopped the local security subsysysty service from working and caused the system to restart.
However, Windows 10 2004 users still need to be alert to the system instability that optional updates can cause, and earlier, many people couldn’t resist spitting slots because of inappropriate legacy/OEM drivers accidentally imported by Windows Update.
With this in mind, make sure that your system has avoided inappropriately driven mines before installing cumulative updates.
