Mozilla Firefox 82.0 Beta 7 is released.

Mozilla Firefox 82, which first entered the Beta channel on September 22, will be released this month, and the highlight of the new edition will be the addition of a feature to block stowaway downloads. Smuggling download is a common method of attack, when a user visits a website embedded in malicious code, it will abuse the legitimate function of the browser to start automatic file download or prompt the download to trick users into running malicious programs.

Sneaky downloads take advantage of a feature called sandboxed iframes, which Chrome has blocked since chrome 73 was released in 2019, and Chrome 83, released in May, has removed this option.

Firefox announced a similar plan to block all downloads from sandboxed iframes from Firefox 82.
