The long-awaited Zen 3 Architecture Ryzen 5000 series is finally here. AMD Ryzen’s official account and CEO, Dr. Su Zifeng, both posted a preview on Twitter that the next generation of Ryzen 5000 series CPUs based on the Zen 3 architecture will be officially unveiled on October 8 at 11 a.m. Central Time (12 p.m. Beijing time on October 9).
AMD’s official Youtube account released a preview: “Join AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su, who will detail the much-anticipated AMD Ryzen 5000 series of desktop processor lines with a groundbreaking Zen 3 architecture. “
It is reported that Dr. Su Zifeng will announce the new Ryzen 5000 series of products in the keynote speech, introduce the new product line, and discuss in detail the CPU architecture upgrades and performance improvements brought about by the new product line.
The AMD Ryzen 5000 is highly anticipated because not only will it exceed the performance of the Zen 2 architecture family processors, but Zen 3 is expected to bring some significant improvements in IPC (instructions executed in each clock cycle) and game performance.
It is reported that the Zen 3 CPU code-named “Vermeer”, based on TSMC Enhanced 7nm process. At the architectural level, IPC growth is 15 to 20%.
According to previous sources, the Ryzen 5000 family is said to be headed by Ryzen 9 5900X (12 core 24 threads) and Ryzen 7 5800X (8 core 16 threads), followed by 5950X (16 cores), 5700X, 5600X and so on.
Suspected AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU-Z score shows single-core 652, multi-core 9481, 27% and 74% ahead of Ryzen 7 3700X, and 20% and 14% ahead of Ryzen 9 3900X, respectively.
