On November 26, 2019, MediaTek held the “MediaTek 5G Program Launch and Global Partner Conference” in Shenzhen, China, and officially launched the flagship 5G mobile platform, the Sky1000. The Sky1000 is MediaTek’s first 5G mobile platform, integrating a 5G modem, manufactured using a 7nm process, and has been a complete performance improvement.
Fastest 5G network throughput The first chip to support 5G dual-card dual-waiting
The Sky1000 integrates the MediaTek 5G modem, which provides significant power savings compared to other solutions. It supports advanced 5G dual carrier aggregation (2CC CA) technology and is the world’s first chip to support 5G dual-card dual-use.
In addition, the Tijuan 1000 has the world’s fastest 5G network throughput, with 4.7Gbps downlink and 2.5Gbps upstream in the Sub-6GHz band. In addition, it supports sub-6GHz band SA independent networking with NSA non-separate networks, as well as 2G to 5G generations of cellular network connectivity.
In terms of wireless connectivity, the Tianyu 1000 also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 plus standards for the fastest and most efficient local wireless connectivity, providing network throughput of more than 1Gbps in both downlink and upstream speeds.
New Architecture AI Processor – APU3.0
In terms of core configuration, the MediaTek Sky1000 has a strong performance, with four ARM Cortex-A77 cores with a master frequency of up to 2.6GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a main frequency of 2.0GHz, with the best balance of performance and power consumption. It is the world’s first chip with the ARM Mali-G77 GPU, delivering a great streaming and gaming experience at 5G speeds.
The Sky1000 features a new architecture of MediaTek’s standalone AI processor, APU3.0, with a high AI compute power of up to 4.5 TOPS, more than twice the performance of the previous generation APU2.0.
It is reported that the first terminal equipped with the Tianyi 1000 will be launched in the first quarter of 2020.
