Intel releases AI chips for neural networks and visual processing

Intel today released its latest Intel Nervana Neural Network Processor (NNP) and the next-generation Intel Movidius Myriad Vision Processing Unit (VPU) in Beijing. “Intel is focused on hardware, software, and eco-cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, which is expected to generate more than $3.5 billion in revenue in 2019,” said Julie Choi, Vice President of Intel’s Artificial Intelligence Division and General Manager of Intel Artificial Intelligence Platform slot and Market Research. ”

The Intel Nervana Neural Network Inference Processor (Intel Nervana NNP-I) is also energy efficient and low-cost, and has flexible form factors for high-intensity multi-modal reasoning at real-scale. Intel is also the latest to release the next-generation Intel Movidius Myriad Vision Processing Unit (VPU).
