According tomedia reports, the outbreak led to increased demand for office equipment, enterprise computing systems, data center servers, the global demand for DRAM (dynamic random memory) has also increased, the second half of 2018 since the decline in DRAM prices, in the first half of this year also rebounded. However, research institutions expect DRAM prices in the first half of this year, although there is a rebound, but the second half of the year is still not optimistic, a small downward trend will continue until the end of the year.

While demand for DRAM in computing remains stable, they do not believe demand will continue to increase until the end of the year, the research group said in its report. On smartphones, while many manufacturers have launched 5G smartphones and are expected to sell 200m this year, research firms believe they will not be caught off guard by DRAM makers or short of supplies.
In the report, the research institute also said that in previous years, the market demand for DRAM increased, usually in the third and fourth quarters, the major smartphone manufacturers usually in these two quarters to launch new products, demand for DRAM increased, driving up prices, but this year the situation is slightly different, the outbreak changed the typical seasonal trend of demand for DRAM, consumers are more cautious in terms of consumption, research institutions do not think that the second half of this year demand for DRAM will be as strong as in previous years.
Currently, the world’s three largest DRAM suppliers are Samsung,SK Hynix and M.A., and research groups said in the report that the three major suppliers expect DRAM sales to weaken in the fourth quarter of this year and the first quarter of next year.
