According to early reviews, the Xbox Series S has a standard capacity of 512GB and an actual free space of 364GB, while the Xbox Series X has a standard capacity of 1TB and an actual free space of 802GB. The storage capacity of the Xbox Series S is of particular concern to players, as the 364GB may not be able to accommodate too many large games.
In an interview with the latest EDGE magazine (Christmas 2020, Issue 352), Jason Ronald, Director of Program Management for the Xbox team, explains that Microsoft has provided early analytical insights into the data of the target group and is confident in this choice.
In a magazine interview, Ronald said
When we look at the player map, we see that they come in many different types: some players play 10-15 games a month, while others play only one game and play it very religiously. So, in the latter case, they have no intention of changing the game. Some players may also choose smaller casual games and want to switch between them. We’ll keep an eye on the player base and have confidence in the 512GB Xbox Series S.
