Felix “xQcOW” Lengyel, a former OverWatch professional who is currently one of Twitch’s best anchors, was temporarily banned from Twitch today for cheating on Twitch’s rival website, media reported. Lengyel is understood to be playing this summer’s big-hit Fall Guys when he snipes at his opponent on live television and lets them go home early.
Lengyel was also banned from eSports for six months for cheating.
A few days ago, Lengyel tweeted a tweet addressing the issue, including his apology and appeal to his fans.
Lengyel’s suspension is the third time this year that he has been suspended from Twitch. The first was in February, when he was streaming an explicit version of Connect Four, and the second was after he showed two gorillas having sex.
All this is important because Lengyel is one of the biggest anchors on Twitch. He has 4.1 million followers on Twitch, an average of 40,000 to 60,000 online viewers per stream at the same time. Twitch has been criticised for not taking action against its biggest channel, so Lengyel’s suspension is clearly a big deal.
