Hip-hop star Lil Baby has been named Global Artist of the Year by Apple Music’s editorial team. Apple said in a press release that the singer’s album My Turn received billions of dollars in global traffic.
Megan Thee Stallion was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year, her collaboration with Cardi B and Beyonce earned 300 million worldwide, while Taylor Swift won songwriter of the year. Both awards were presented by Apple Music editors.
Roddy Ricch’s The Box won Song of the Year with 460 million Apple Music traffic. Apple says the single has been at the top of the charts for more time than any other song in 2020. Ricch’s album, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, was named Album of the Year.
