The blockchain browser Brave, launched by Mozilla co-founder Brendan Eich, has reached a new milestone of 40 million downloads on Android, beincrypto reported. The browser is also closely linked to the Basic Attention Token (BAT) project and has made a number of positive milestones over the past 12 months, showing significant growth. By comparison, the Coinbase app was downloaded 20 million times.
Brave is known to be a browser for blocking ads and trackers and is popular in the encrypted community. The project’s cryptocurrency BAT has also made progress in recent months, and can be used to reward publications, users and content creators.
Last November, Brave officially launched Brave 1. 0, and earlier this year, it was reported that the browser had been downloaded 20 million times on Android and had jumped to 40 million. That’s about eight months, the browser’s Android users doubled. In addition, Brave is the most downloaded Android browser in Japan.
In terms of the number of users, the browser has surpassed Opera and Firefox, which are said to have more than twice as many users as Chrome, Google’s browser.
