According to ZTE’s official website, Shanghai Telecom and ZTE recently launched the world’s first commercial network test of 5G maglev high-speed line in Shanghai. To achieve the magnetic levitation train representing the highest speed on the surface of nearly 500 kilometers per hour, the 5G commercial terminal is stable, easily supporting a variety of high-speed mobile broadband services, marking the 5G network for magnetic levitation train to provide an ideal broadband communication service.

It is reported that Shanghai maglev is the world’s first commercial operation of magnetic levitation line, is also the fastest commercial operation of high-speed trains, since the opening of Shanghai and even China’s business card.

The 5G network is jointly built by Shanghai Telecom and ZTE, using ZTE’s full set of 5G system equipment, providing high-rate data access, mobile office, video conferencing, HD/Ultra HD video, interactive games and other services.

Due to the special situation restrictions, how to provide high-quality network coverage for high-speed trains has always been an important challenge for operators and equipment manufacturers. This is more complex when 5G networks are deployed at higher frequencies than 2/3/4G networks.

In order to solve these problems, ZTE and Shanghai Telecom have been through a number of technical exploration and testing, constantly challenging the limits of technology, in the following areas have made breakthrough progress:

Through the proprietary Doppler frequency shift channel compensation technology, to solve the rapid movement of the train caused by the deterioration of wireless channels, support more than 500km/h mobile speed, to meet the needs of various magnetic levitation, high-speed rail;

In addition, multi-base stations jointly realize a single cell 6 to 12 km length of ribbon cell coverage, reduce the train operation of 90% of the small interval switching, to ensure continuous and stable access and excellent user experience;

In addition, compared to the 2T2R products commonly used in 2/3/4G networks, ZTE used 8T8R RRU as the first high-speed rail line coverage in the 5G industry, and multi-channel equipment combined with 5G feature channels and beam scanning and other technologies to enhance coverage, which can achieve significant coverage improvement.

It is worth mentioning that the scheme is realized through the network side technology innovation of the base station, there are no special requirements for the terminal.
