BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — Danish champion astralis is on the verge of becoming the world’s first listed e-racing team to consolidate its position in the $1.1 billion global market,media reported. The market has more than doubled since 2016.
Astralis is the world champion team of the first-person shooter, The Anti-Terrorist Elite: Global Offensive (CS:GO), which has won millions of dollars in prize money in tournaments. This success has earned it a commercial endorsement for brands such as Audi and Logitech.
Its parent company, Astralis Group, will now hit the NASDAQ Copenhagen Stock Exchange’s small-cap market on December 9. According to the prospectus, Astralis plans to raise Between DKK 125 million and DKK 150 million ($18 million to $22 million) through the IPO at a price of 8.95 kronor per share.
According to recent projections, the global e-competition market will reach nearly $2 billion by 2022, and the number of viewers for the global e-competition is expected to reach 595 million that year.
Nikolaj Nyholm, chief executive of Astralis, said he was confident the IPO would be a success and said it had received subscription commitments worth about $8m “from a range of European and Asian investors”.
