At the end of 2017, LG Electronics filed a series of design patents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The six patents were published in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) database on October 8, 2019 and feature a television screen with round curves.
The six designs are styled differently, with edges at the top, bottom, left, or right, but not necessarily LG will roll out each.
Under the competitive pressure of Samsung’s rich QLED product line and the new design of Zero Bazel, LG clearly needs to come up with more attractive OLED TV solutions, such as artificial intelligence (AI).
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2019) earlier this year, LG unveiled the world’s first curly OLED TV. The previous year, the company had exhibited a 65-inch prototype.
LG is expected to continue to introduce products and innovative designs in 2020. CeS 2020 is expected to be held in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10.
