In February, Tesla pledged to launch city-level Autopilot by the end of the year, media reported. For now, the system is only designed for highways, but Musk has promised to fully autonomous driving in the near future. Recently, Tesla reverse engineer Green found evidence that the company was developing the feature in Tesla Firmware 126.96.36.199.
According to its disclosure, he found the CityStreetsCode code in the code to be completely new, meaning that Urban Road Autopilot is currently under active development.
Tesla has been promising fully self-driving cars for some time, and with the delivery of Smart Call, Tesla has already received some funding from drivers who pay for all-autonomous vehicles. Elon Musk has said that the FSD is fully functional and could be available to some drivers through Early Access by the end of the year.
Given Musk’s off-the-go features, this feature is likely to not be implemented on time, but the existence of the code suggests that it does exist.
