On November 29, Bosch (China) established a hydrogen fuel cell center in Wuxi. It is reported that the hydrogen fuel cell center will be mainly used for research and development, test-making hydrogen fuel cell powertrain-related products, with all the test equipment from key components to reactors and even fuel cell systems, as well as electric reactor sample test lines. The center will be completed by the end of 2020 and is scheduled for small-scale production by 2021.
Wang Weiliang, President of Bosch Powertrain China, said that Wuxi Hydrogen Fuel Cell Center will undertake the development of a complete system for key components of fuel cells such as hydrogen jet valves and electronic air compressors, and will lay a solid foundation for the large-scale mass production of fuel cells in the future.
In addition, Bosch stakeholders believe that fuel cell systems have the advantages of lighter weight, long range, short fuel replenishment time and zero emissions, especially for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles that require long-distance driving.
