The sequel to “The Shining” based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, “Doctor Sleep,” will be released in North America on November 8th. Several media outlets gave positive reviews of the strong personal style of michael-based director Mike Flanagan, with some praising Doctor Sleep as “the best Stephen King film adaptation since Shawshank’s Redemption.”
On the showside, the villain played by Rebecca Ferguson has been well received by the media.
“Dr. Sleeping Doctor” media first word of mouth:
Slash Film: Director Mike Flanagan’s bravest decision was not to try to imitate Kubrick. He made a Mike Flanagan movie: scary, emotional, extremely optimistic. Not only is it a sequel to “The Shining”, but it’s a response to it, allowing King and Kubrick’s world to coexist.
JoBlo.com: Ewan McGregor and Kelly Cullen are great, but Rebecca Ferguson is the best, with her high-hatted Rose joining Stephen King’s memorable anti-role treasure trove to make you feel like you love and hate.
Collider: Subverted a lot of the original novel, but understandably it accurately retains the core of Gold. A edited version of Rebecca Ferguson.
Daily D:There’s been a lot of Stephen King novel adaptations this year, but Doctor Sleep is the best. It was an unexpected surprise, i’ve been moved many times, and Rebecca Ferguson is too aggressive.
We Live Entertainment: Doctor Sleep is the best Stephen King adaptation of “The Redemption of Shawshank.” Mike Flanagan combines nostalgia, tension, mystery and suspense. The whole starring class is fantastic. There are plenty of surprises that will make Stephen King fans scream.
Doctor Sleep will be released in North America on November 8.
