Daniel Ives, an analyst at Wedbush, wrote in a November 29 report that Sales of Apple’s AirPods were strong on Black Friday, but that the shortage of new AirPods Pro remains a concern. Wedbush said it was aware of inventory levels/shortages at “some retailers” and that it was worrying to see “a surge in consumer demand for the new AirPods Pro” and a potential shortfall “into the Christmas period.”
Notice a “sharp” drop in the price of some retailers and Amazon(on the platform) for older Airpods.
Apple is expected to sell more than 3 million or more AirPods during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Apple is expected to sell more than 65 million AirPods in 2019 and 85 million/90 million by 2020.
“Despite the many shortages of AirPods Pro sons during the holiday period,” Ives said, production appears to be stabilising.
Wedbush maintained Apple’s winning rating and a $325 target price. Apple currently has 27 buys, 14 holdings and seven sell ratings;
