Apple today announced the launch of the AirPods Pro, with a new in-ear design with a compact and lightweight design with active noise reduction. The AirPods Pro will be available for order on Apple’s website and Apple Store app from today and will be available in retail stores starting Wednesday, October 30.
The AirPods Pro has excellent wearing comfort and fit, and, like the existing AirPods family, has a unique wireless audio experience. Simply approach your iOS or iPadOS device and open the charging case, with a tap, pair AirPods Pro with a variety of devices under the user’s signed-in iCloud account, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and iPod t ouch.
The new AirPods Pro offers a new in-ear headphone design with three different sizes of earbuds, each with soft and elastic silicone material that allows the earbuds to fit into the ear shape of each ear, ensuring a comfortable fit for a high degree of closeness, for further comfort. The AirPods Pro also uses an innovative ventilation system to balance pressure and minimize the discomfort that is common in other in-ear headphone designs, and the AirPods Pro is also sweat-resistant.
The AirPods Pro’s active noise reduction feature uses two microphones combined with built-in software to continuously adjust to the individual’s ear shape and headset fit. This design eliminates background noise and allows users to listen more attentively whether they listen to music or make phone calls.
The first microphone is an extroverted design that detects external sound waves and analyzes ambient noise. AirPods Pro then offsets the noise before it enters the user’s ear with its equivalent noise-resistant wave. The second microphone is inward-coded and detects in-ear noise, and airPods Pro offsets the detected excess noise. The noise reduction function continuously adjusts the sound signal at a frequency of 200 times per second.
The AirPods Pro enables impressive sound quality with adaptive equalization, which automatically adjusts the low- and mid-frequency portions of music based on the user’s personal ear shape. Custom high dynamic range amplifiers deliver pure, clear sound and extend battery life, while driving custom high-amplitude, low-distortion speaker drives to optimize sound quality and eliminate background noise. The drive unit enables a consistent, consistent bass as low as 20Hz and provides rich detail in the performance of the medium and high frequencies.
Permeable mode allows users to choose to listen to music while still hearing the sound of the surrounding environment, through mode with balanced pressure ventilation system and built-in software, can retain only moderate noise reduction regulation, to ensure that the user’s own voice sounds natural, while the audio can still play with great results.
Active noise reduction and permeable mode switching is simple and can be done directly from the innovative force sensor on the Handle of the AirPods Pro headset. This force sensor makes it easy to play, pause, skip tracks, answer, or hang up. Users can also press the control center’s volume slider on their iPhone and iPad, or tap the Air Play icon on the Apple Watch while playing music to easily control settings.
Quicktap the volume slider in the Control Center to easily switch between active noise reduction and permeable mode.
Performance and battery life
The AirPods Pro’s small size but strength is thanks to its groundbreaking System-in-Package (SiP) package design, and Apple’s own H1 chip is at its core. The H1 chip has 10 audio cores that power everything from audio to Siri. With its extremely low audio processing latency, it not only delivers real-time noise reduction, uses adaptive technology for superior sound quality, and responds to “Hey Siri” hands-free voice requests, all of which can be done at the same time.
The AirPods Pro has the same battery life as the AirPods and can listen for up to 5 hours. In active noise reduction mode, the AirPods Pro can listen for up to 4.5 hours on a single charge and up to 3.5 hours on a single call. With the wireless charging case for additional multiple charges, the AirPods Pro can even provide more than 24 hours of listening or more than 18 hours of talk time. Charging is as easy as it is, and you can easily charge your AirPods Pro by placing your AirPods charging case on a Qi-certified charging pad or using the Lightning connector when you’re out and about.
The earbud fit test helps ensure the best audio experience when wearing AirPods Pro by testing the tightness of earbuds to determine the best earbud size for the user. When the user puts the AirPods Pro in their ear, the advanced algorithm works with the microphone in each AirPods to measure the sound level in the ear and compare it to the sound coming from the speaker drive unit. In just a few seconds, the algorithm can measure whether the earbuds are the right size and fit, or need further adjustments to achieve better tightness.
Voice-activated Siri lets you easily play songs, turn up the volume, make calls, or get route information with the H1 chip for hands-free “Hey Siri.”
Audio sharing lets you enjoy the same song or movie with your friends with just another pair of AirPods near your iPhone or iPad.
The messaging feature automatically and easily reads it for you when you receive it, and Siri knows not to bother you when you take calls or share media content via audio sharing.
