Chromium-based Edge browsers are increasingly supporting progressive web applications (PWAs). In the release update released today by the Canary Channel, you can install the site like an “app” and provide a richer color selection for the app title bar. Even better, the color of the titles is based on the site’s basic color, which means YouTube has a red title bar and Twitch is purple.
“It’s automatically generated, but as ever, web developers can specify their own colors and override auto-picked color themes,” says William Devereux, a development team member in the Microsoft Edge Insider community. “Themedia OnMSFT then tested several PWA applications used on a daily basis, and the results can be viewed in the figure above.
To install a website as an application using Microsoft Edge, you must click the ellipsis next to your profile picture (… button, then go to Application and select Install the site as an application. However, not all websites will display color, such as Bing and Skype and other popular sites after the installation of color will not be displayed, I believe that Microsoft will be further improved.
