Xinhua News Agency, The Hague, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — BYD, China’s leading new energy vehicle company, signed an agreement with European bus operator Kaiores Netherlands on Monday, winning the bid for 259 pure electric buses in the Netherlands. According to BYD, this is by far Europe’s largest pure electric bus order, involving BYD bus family models. All vehicles are expected to be operational by the end of 2020, covering the eastern and central regions of the Netherlands.
Among them, BYD’s new intercity bus models are equipped with new battery technology, and more long-lasting battery life can meet the needs of intercity commuter operations.

Frank Jansen, chief executive of Kaiores Netherlands, said BYD was chosen as a partner because of its operational experience in the field of pure electric buses.
In 2012, BYD received the first public tender for electric buses in Europe. Up to now, BYD pure electric bus has been successfully sold to 13 countries in Europe, more than 60 cities, a total of more than 1200 orders.
