New leak reveals Tesla cars will integrate a number of new entertainment apps

Tesla recently updated software in its cars to introduce features such as the Tesla Theater,media outlet MSPoweruser reported. The upgrade allows Tesla cars to use services such as Netflix and YouTube after parking and WiFi. Now, as a regular Tesla leaker, researcher @greentheonly has revealed many other applications.

The new list of apps includes popular entertainment apps such as Comedy Central, Crunchyroll, Monty Python, Twitch, HBO Go, HBO Now, Mixer and Youku.

Unlike many other cars, the Model S comes with an extended 17-inch touchscreen, while the Model 3 comes with a 15-inch touchscreen. Recently, Tesla announced the Arcade gaming experience, introducing games such as “Beach Racing 2,” Xbox controller support, and Chess and Karaoke features to Tesla cars.

Currently, these apps only run when the car is parked. When regulators approve its use for fully autonomous driving, Tesla will enable video while driving.

Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he would consider opening Tesla’s infotainment platform to third-party developers in the future to develop both apps and games, and eventually an app store.
