Apple today released watchOS 6.1, the first major update since watchOS 6 was released. watchOS 6.1 is more than a month away from watchOS 6 release. watchOS 6.1 can be downloaded and installed through the Watch app on your iPhone. When you install the watchOS update, the Apple Watch needs more than 50% of the remaining charge, is plugged into power, and is in range with your iPhone.
WatchOS 6.1 testing phase does not include any new features, and in the official update notes, Apple mentions that watchOS 6.1 has added support for AirPods Pro. Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 users can also upgrade.
Previously, Series 1 and 2 users could not upgrade to watchOS 6, and only Series 3 or the updated Apple Watch could upgrade watchOS 6.
