A few months ago, Sony announced the launch time of the PlayStation 5 and revealed some key features about the new console and handle. Later next year, we’re expected to welcome the new DualShock 5 handle with the PS5. However, some of the new patents that have been revealed in recent days have revealed some details about the new platform. First, Sony is trying to bring a Siri-like artificial intelligence virtual assistant to the PlayStation. It can understand the game the player is playing and help if necessary.

The patent was discovered months ago, but has not been officially confirmed by Sony. As for the NEW handle of the PS5, the company has not disclosed whether it has a microphone opening on it for players to engage in any voice-based interaction.
The second patent describes new technologies for the PS5 and DualShock, making it easy for Sony to turn any single player into a multiplayer game. It filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in mid-2018 and was approved earlier this month.
As shown in the figure, the patent’s description is simple, but not lacking in creativity. A group of partners can work together (each using a DualShock handle) to control a character in the game (only a few keys are active on each controller).
In shooting games, for example, one player can control the character’s direction, and others can be responsible for shooting and loading. If the PS5 can introduce this game, it will bring more fun.
The same concept can also be used in cloud games. Players can work with friends or strangers to achieve similar face-to-face interactions in specific types of games. In the case of fighting games, one person can be responsible for the movement of the character, while the other is responsible for the fight.
It should be noted that obtaining a patent does not mean that manufacturers will soon introduce new products based on such design concepts. Please be patient as to what the truth is.
