macOS Catalina 10.15.1 Releases New Emoji, with AirPods Pro support

Apple today released a macOS Catalina 10.15.1 upgrade patch. MacOS Catalina can be downloaded from the Mac App Store or upgraded with a software update in Your System Preferences. MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 has added a new emoji to match iOS 13.2, released earlier this week. At the same time, macOS Catalina 10.15.1 has added AirPods Pro support. Here’s a detailed update:

macOS 10.15.1 Update

The macOS Catalina 10.15.1 update includes updates and new emojis, support for AirPods Pro, HomeKit security video, HomeKit-enabled routers, and new Siri privacy settings, as well as bug fixes and improvements.

New privacy settings that let you control whether Apple is allowed to store audio of your interactions with Siri and dictation to help improve Siri and dictation

New option to remove your Siri and dictation history from Siri settings

This update also includes the following bug fixes and improvements:

Restored the ability to display file names in All Photos view in Photos

Restored the ability to filter by favorites, photos, videos, edited, and keywords in The Day view of Photos

Fixes an issue where Messages may only be notified once when the duplicate reminder option is enabled

Fixes an issue that caused Contacts to appear previously opened contacts instead of contact lists when Contacts is turned on

Fixes an issue with the Music app that might occur when you’re showing playlists in a folder and new songs in the Songs list

Improved reliability when migrating iTunes library databases to Music, Podcasts, and Video apps

Fixes an issue where the downloaded captions in the Video app are not visible in the Downloads folder
