BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) — Large technology companies such as Google and Facebook have long been seen as the world’s most satisfying workplace, offering numerous perks and employee benefits. But the latest survey shows that their aura has darkened.
The two Silicon Valley companies fell out of the top 10 of America’s “best places to work” according to the annual rankings released Tuesday by GlaSSDoor, the nation’s largest job search site. Cloud computing software company HubSpot topped the list, while technology company DocuSign Inc. and Ultimate Software are 3 and 8, respectively.
Facebook has been named the “best place to work” in the United States three times in the past decade, but this year it has dropped to 23rd. It was the social media giant’s lowest ranking since it was first named in 2011, down 16 places from last year’s no.7 ranking.
Google was named “Best Place to Work” in 2015 and has been in the top 10 for the past eight years, but has dropped to 11th this year. Apple’s ranking dropped to 84th this year, and Amazon, which has never been known for its positive internal culture, has failed to make the list for 12 years in a row.
Microsoft is one of the few big tech companies to rise, rising to 21st from 34th a year ago.
