Last week Gitlab sent all users an email (details) entitled Important Notices on Service Agreements and User Behavior Data Collection. Gitlab wants to use this to collect user habits from Gitlab products. But as an independently deployed product, the move was met with an outcry from community developers.
Under pressure, Gitlab has again released withdrawals and rethinking measures to collect user behavior and apologetic emails.
Gitlab officials say they will not activate an analysis of the user’s product usage behavior in the product. Users are also expected to provide feedback based on this behavior.
