OWC has just introduced a small external storage product for professional customers, including four 2.5-inch SATA hard drive bits, up to 16TB capacity, and up to 1.5 GB/s transmission speed of thunderBay 4 Mini DAS. Consider for creators who need a lot of reliable storage space, but are more concerned about space use. The drive bit can be available in a disk body up to 15.5 mm and offers two Thunder bolt 3 and Xiangshuo ASM1062 controllers (2 x PCIe 2.0 x 2 x 2-turn SATA 6 Gbps bridging chip) based on the Intel JHL650 chip.

Limited by the SATA 6 Gbps interface rate, the Xiangshuo ASM1062 chip delivers 1556 MB/s read/write performance for ThunderBay 4 Mini DAS when paired with four SATA SSDs.
Four Seagate 2.5-inch 4TB mechanical hard drives provide read/write performance of approximately 560 MB/s. In addition, for stability and consistent performance, the DAS is equipped with an active fan-based cooling solution.
With The SoftRAID XT or SoftRAID XT Lite software available from OWC, users can also choose from a variety of disk array scenarios that support both Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
