Corsair, known for its various game PC components and peripherals, is trying to strengthen its market position through acquisitions. After incorporating custom PC manufacturer Origin PC into the company, the company announced the acquisition of gamepad maker SCUF Gaming. Founded in 2011, SCUF has focused on high-end modular controller products tailored to user needs, including D-Pad, rocker, trigger, panel, and more.

In addition, SCUF has partnered with Microsoft to develop a special version of the Xbox Elite handle (the Xbox Elite Controller itself can be customized).
Andy Paul, Chief Executive Officer of Corsair, said: “By acquiring SCUF, we are pleased to be able to significantly expand the industry’s leading peripheral portfolio to help players perform at their best.”
“SCUF leads the performance-level gamepad market and is one of the key factors for the success of countless e-racing professionals. It will continue to provide a rich and outstanding product portfolio for award-winning Corsair and Elgato subbrands.”
If all goes well, the acquisition will be completed next month. SCUF will continue to operate independently and its headquarters will remain in Atlanta.
