Recently, media reported that according to Tesla’s product strategic plan, it also has a car to be identified in the future, the product may be a Model X platform-based city-based pure electric bus. Back in 2016, after Tesla unveiled products such as The Roader, Model S/X, Musk unveiled the “Second Part of the Tesla Master Plan” and said that in addition to consumer car products, the Tesla brand will offer two other electric vehicles, heavy trucks and urban buses.
Since then, Tesla has launched a heavy-duty, pure-electric truck, the Semi, which officials say can last up to 500 miles (805km) and has an acceleration time of 0-96km/h for just 5 seconds at an empty capacity, and a 0-96km/h acceleration time of 20 seconds at a load of 36 tons.
Unfortunately, after Tesla unveiled the all-electric pickup Cybertruck, Musk said there would be no new product launches in the near future, which also made Tesla’s all-electric buses “just audible” more mysterious.
Today, Tesla is deploying self-driving fleets and tunnel transportation. As a result, media predict that Tesla’s pure electric city bus is likely to be combined with the two projects.
