Apple has signed a contract for a new documentary series by Wanda Sykes called “Visible: Out on Tv,” Variety reported.
Created by filmmakers Ryan White and Jessica Hargrave, the series features five episodes of “The Importance of Television as an Important Medium that Affects the Conscience of Americans and how the LGBTQ Movement Has Shaped Television.”
The hour-long series will explore topics including homophobia and fear of homosexuals, the evolution of LGBTQ roles and popularity in the television industry.
The archive film is said to be combined with “the main players of the movement” and is narrated by Janet Mock, Margaret Cho, Asia Kate Dillon, Neil Patrick Harris, Lena Waithe and others. Interviews will also include interviews with Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Anderson Cooper and others.
“Visible: Out on Tv” is scheduled to premiere on Apple TV on February 14, 2020.
