Windows 10 Explorer search for a basket of Microsoft is stepping up to fix

The situation has not improved after microsoft recently updated Windows 10 November 2019 Update. Users are still reporting a problem with the Windows 10 File Explorer search bar, and the error appears to be widespread. Windows 10 version 1909 includes updated File Explorer, which allows you to quickly preview search results for local content and OneDrive content. Although the new search bar is useful, it can be used for a long time.

The 1909 update also disables right-clicking in File Explorer, allowing users to paste text into the search bar without the mouse. Microsoft is clearly working to resolve this issue, and the current preview version of Windows 10 20H1 has resolved the File Explorer search issue.

Microsoft noted in the update log for Windows 10 20H1 Build 19013 that the developer had resolved an issue where the cursor focus could not be placed in the search box of File Explorer. The Build 19013 version that resolved the issue was delivered to testers a few weeks before the November 2019 update.

At the same time, Microsoft has added the ability to right-click in the search bar, which allows you to delete recent search results.

However, users in the forum were clearly dissatisfied with Microsoft’s quality control:

“It’s a serious poor quality control, and Windows 7 is definitely a better product in terms of quality and reliability. It’s too bad, and while I like Windows 10, the fact that its features are often inexplicable makes Microsoft look like a troubled company. One user wrote on the Microsoft community forum.

We don’t know when Microsoft plans to port the patch to Windows 10 November 2019 Update, but it looks likeit will have until January.

If you’re having trouble searching with a file browser and don’t need to restart your PC, just kill the Explorer.exe process, restart Windows Explorer, and the search bar will run again.
