At the “Meet the New Volkswagen” brand event on October 31st, the Volkswagen ID Buggy Beach Concept Car made its domestic debut. Inspired by the classic 60s Ganifia Dune, the new car is powered by a drive motor and the WLTP can last up to 249km.
Appearance, this beach car is both retro and futuristic. Its split body consists of a green body, a gray-black front and rear window frame and front and rear bumpers, with a round front and rear light set, the overall shape is very cute.
Interior, ID. Buggy’s design is very simple, and all its internal components are coated with waterproof material for the purpose of waterproofing and sand. The two-spoke steering wheel features a polygonal color-matching design, combined with an integrated dashboard and lever on the steering column, to look tech-sensitive.
In terms of body size, the length and width of the new car are 4060/1890/1460mm, wheelbase of 2650mm, front and rear short suspension spree of 680mm and 730mm, the minimum ground clearance of 230mm, a typical “off-road Hummer”.
In terms of off-road configuration, the new car is equipped with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A ® off-road tires (front 255/55, rear wheel 285/60), while the robust aluminum bottom guard ensures that the front axle and auxiliary equipment are not damaged during off-road driving.
Id. Built on the MEB platform, Buggy has a drive motor with a maximum power of 201 horsepower on the rear axle, 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.2s, and a battery pack of 62kWh with WLTP up to 249km.
It is worth mentioning that the car can also add an additional motor to the front axle for four-wheel drive, with a maximum power expected to exceed 400 horsepower and a peak torque of more than 600 Nm.
