According to the official blog post, Microsoft plans to launch the Windows Terminal app in the first half of next year (around February/March). The new app is currently available in preview form on the Microsoft Store, integrating Command Prompt, PowerShell, Windows Subsystem for Linux and Security Shell in a unified command-line interface.
Microsoft has been working on a preview of Windows Terminal. The company has added accessibility support, dynamic profiles, fixed many BUGS, and introduced multi-panel and tab interfaces. This tool manages all command lines in a unified interface, enabling developers to better organize their work to improve efficiency.
Microsoft chose to open the application’s code on GitHub and solicit edgy feedback and suggestions before the feature is fully released next year. The company will continue to release monthly previewversions for personal testing and feedback to continue polishing and improving performance until version 1.0 is released.
