With the help of more than half a million donors and some wealthy tech executives, YouTube bloggers have surpassed their goal of raising $20 million to help plant 20 million trees at the Arbor Day Foundation,media reported. The charity campaign began nearly two months ago when hundreds of YouTube bloggers, led by Jimmy “Mr Beast” Donaldson, joined forces to fight climate change.
Donaldson has teamed up with some of YouTube’s most popular creators to promote Team Trees, which includes Mark Rober (8.7 million followers), Guava Juice (14.6 million followers), Marques Brownlee (9.5 million fans), Every Smarter Day (7.4 million followers), Ninja (22.4 million fans), JackSepti (22.9 million fans), etc. More channels have been involved since Donaldson and friends announced plans on October 25.
By October 31st, they had raised more than $10 million through videos and charity events from organizers, with some prominent tech executives donating large donations, such as $1 million from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
