United Airlines extended the suspension of Boeing’s 737 Max flights from early March to June. Last week, American Airlines and Southwest Airlines postponed the re-entry date of Boeing 737 Max to early April. According to the current schedule, the 737 Max flight has been cancelled 146,000 times since it was grounded in March last year.
Earlier, Steve Dickson, the head of the FAA, said the recertification of the 737 Max would not be completed in 2019 and that the process would take some time. The move prompted Boeing to announce that it would temporarily halt production of the 737 MAX in January.
Boeing shares fell 1 percent monday. The company has a market capitalisation of more than $185 billion, up about 2 percent since the start of the year.
