Sailfish OS 3.2.1 “Nuuksio” is out now. This release has made many reliability improvements, especially for email, calendar synchronization, and VPN settings. In addition to improving reliability, e-mail applications now enhance support for processing HTML-formatted messages.
It also improves audio routing for Android apps and other Android 8.1 app support updates, addressing issues with apps such as WhatsApp and Youtube. The operating system now supports hardware MPEG2, VP9 and h.265 /HEVC video decoding (the exact support depends on the device).
In the Sailfish OS 3.2.1 Nuuksio version, the development team generally continued to improve the Phone and Messages application and UI. Message bubbles get a new visual style, and related messages now form visual groups to enhance readability. Address processing in e-mail and messaging applications has also been improved, so users can now see the recipient address and can easily remove unwanted recipients.
In addition, it improves call handling and develops an experience that is best suited for one-handed use. The view displayed after the call has been improved to include subsequent controls at the bottom of the screen.
To enhance user security, the browser now includes a lock indication that accesses details when using a secure connection (HTTPS). and indicates whether the site connection is trusted or not. Tapping the icon will show more information about the site certificate, owner, publisher, expiration date, etc.
