More and more human jobs may be replaced by artificial intelligence in the future, but artificial intelligence may not be ready to write songs for the holidays, media CNET reported. A research scientist trained her neural network algorithm based on 240 different Christmas carols to understand what artificial intelligence systems can learn from the song Rudolph Red-Nosed Reindeer.
When she enters the lyrics to “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” AI adds something like this:
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, with its red belly
The All-gracious king of all the earth,
Had a baby at Christmas time, On Christmas Day,
A true and holly Deity, Went down to earth,
With human flesh for sacrifice… (Sacrifice of human flesh)
Research scientist Janelle Shane also asked her neural network to produce the original carols. AI seems to be focusing on the commercial nature of the holidays, writing a song about buying yachts “now.” “I can’t tell if I misunderstood the meaning of christmas carols or if I understood a part of it,” she wrote in a blog post on Tuesday. “
Shane used AI to create new names for Christmas cookies last Christmas – including “Merry Hunga Poppers,” “Grandma’s Spritches” and “Apricot Mole Dreams.”
She has previously used artificial intelligence to generate superhero names (“Superbore” and “Red Fart”), new phrases for Valentine’s Day heart candy (“sweat poo,” “love 2000 hogs” and “stank love”) and the new Dungeons and Amp;Dragons creatures and phrases (e.g. “Summon Ass” and “Shield of Farts”).
