RIVIAN, ONE OF TESLA’S BIGGEST RIVALS, POSTED A VIDEO ON SOCIAL MEDIA FROM US ELECTRIC CAR START-UP RIVIAN. The video shows the brand’s first all-electric pickup, the RIVIAN R1T, which can be as capable of turning in place as a tank. According to officials, each wheel of the RIVIAN R1T is driven by a single motor, enabling independent control of each wheel, with the corresponding control logic, so that the vehicle can achieve in-situ steering.
Video shows that the new car does not appear significantly different from the ordinary pickup, and its ability to steer in situ is achieved by driving the wheels on both sides of the vehicle in the opposite direction.
The R1T pickup has a hard-core SUV, with a high score of 5475/2015/1815mm, a wheelbase of 3450mm, and a length of nearly 5m5 to make the car look particularly aggressive.
Powered, the car is equipped with a 4-drive motor with a maximum power of 800 horsepower, a peak torque of 14,000 Nm (official data), and a 0-96km/h acceleration of 2.8 seconds. With a battery pack of 105kWh, 135kWh and 180kWh, the range is 386 km, 499 km and 660 km respectively.
It is worth mentioning that the R1T pickup also uses a suspension system with the front double fork arm and rear multi-link, and is equipped with an adjustable air shock absorber with a wading depth of up to 1m.
