The Mayan civilization was listed as one of the three major civilizations of the Americas (Aztec and Mayan civilizations were located in Central America; the Inca Empire was located in the Andes of South America).

Mexico’s National Institute of Anthropology and History said in a statement that the site is 6 meters high, 55 meters long and 15 meters wide and was inhabited between 600 and 1050 AD, the report said.

Previous studies have pointed out that war was not only a feature of urban competition at the peak of the Mayan civilization, but also led to its decline in the late Mayan civilization. The Mayans adopted “scorched earth tactics” and climate change led to the ongoing war of 800-950 A.D., which in turn led to the decline of the Mayan civilization.
