Volkswagen makes Beatles farewell animation to the last mile: remember its good times

Many people are frustrated that VW’s new Beetle is following the bird(now extinct) after its first generation of beetles was discontinued, according tomedia. To that end, Volkswagen has produced a video called “The Last Mile” to celebrate the long history and cultural significance of its most famous model. Along with the children’s choir singing the Beatles’ “Let It Be”, the animated short film takes a look back at the wonderful times of the model’s life.

Iconic characters such as Andy Warhol and Kevin Bacon vividly illustrate the different stages that the Beetle warmly accompanied a family through.

Although the Beetle will make its final journey, it seems that the public has no intention of letting it completely away from people – “the end of one road represents the beginning of another.”

Perhaps in the next few years people will have the chance to see the birth of another Beetle, and it will almost certainly be electric.
