After LG, Xiaomi and Samsung, TCL, another manufacturer, has patented a stretchable screen phone. The patent was included in WIPO’s global design database on December 23, 2019, and its patent description is very short, but includes four color patent design sketches. According to the patented sketch description, the screen width is a bit narrow by default, but the screen space can be extended by stretching left and right, while the border portionon on the left and right remains the same, which increases sturdiness and stability.
The extra screen surface comes out of the center and scrolls to the left (from the front). This is a very modern design phone, so the TCL phone has a beautiful display effect. There are also no visible buttons on the side, and there is only a small and wide button at the top, which may be the on/off button. The border on the forehead and chin is also very narrow.
There is no front-facing camera on the front of the fuselage. TCL may be planning to handle the selfie camera at the bottom of the screen. The first phone with a camera under the screen is expected to be launched in 2020. However, it will take longer for this technology to be available on flexible screens. The back of the fuselage is equipped with a vertically arranged four camera system, which is placed vertically at the top left. The flash appears to be placed directly under the camera.
