Lenovo today officially announced its new IdeaCenter Creator 5 desktop, which is designed to provide powerful performance support for gaming and professional applications. The desktop is recognized and supported by many content creators and application developers, making it ideal for intensive tasks such as application development and multimedia creation.
The IdeaCenter Creator 5 features a relatively small 14-liter chassis equipped with Intel’s latest Core i9 processor, which is expected to go on sale in October 2020. It is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics (RTX 2060 start), up to 32GB of DDR4 memory, M.2 SSD and 2.5-inch hard drive.
The desktop is powered by a 310W or 380W power supply, although hardware upgrades are limited by the compact chassis design. On the interface side, IdeaCentre Creator 5 has all the connectivity options on today’s mainstream systems, including Wi-Fi 5 plus Bluetooth 4 card, GbE adapter, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A connectors, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, four USB 2.0 connections a three-in-one reader, two display outputs and a 3.5 mm audio jack for front headsets.
Although the desktop was unveiled at this year’s CES show, the real delivery time will not be until October, when Intel launches its new processor. The desktop is understood to start at $1099.99.
