January 6 (UPI) — The Tesla Model 3 is on the verge of overtaking the Nissan LEAF as the best-selling electric car of all time, according tomedia reports. Tesla recently announced that it produced 104,891 cars in the fourth quarter of last year and delivered 112,000, both of which set a company record. Last year, q4 delivered 112,000 vehicles, 92,550 Model 3,19450 model S and Model X.

Since its inception, Tesla has delivered about 900,000 electric vehicles, of which 448,634 are Model 3 electric vehicles (preliminary statistics), according tomedia.
The Tesla Model 3 will deliver 1,764 vehicles, 146,055 and 300,815 in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Nissan announced on March 5, 2019 that it had sold 400,000 vehicles since December 2010. Nissan is also the first electric car to reach this level of sales.
Media estimate that Nissan’s cumulative sales by the end of 2019 will be about 450,000 to 460,000 vehicles.
In other words, the Tesla Model 3 is expected to catch up with Nissan in a matter of weeks, making it the best-selling electric car of all time.
Tesla is also expected to be the first manufacturer to sell 1 million electric cars.
Tesla’s share series hit a new high, driven by a host of good news. At Friday’s close, Tesla’s shares were up 2.96 percent at $443.01, giving it a market value of about $80 billion.
