On December 27 last year, the China Computer Society (CCF) awarded Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s Consumer Business and a 1987 alumnus of The University of Western Engineering, the 2019 CCF Computer Entrepreneur Award. The award is awarded to business leaders who have made significant contributions to the development of the computer and information industries, and the performance of the company is widely recognized in the industry and society. The award was established in 2013 and was awarded to two people nationwide in 2019.
Mr Yu’s award was given the second-highest market share in the world by leading Huawei’s handsets from low to mid-to-high end since becoming CEO of Huawei’s consumer business in 2011, with the massive use of Huawei’s Heise chips.
To this end, the CCF Award committee decided to award Mr. Yu Chengdong the 2019 CCF Computer Entrepreneur Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to China’s smartphone industry.
According to the data, Yu Chengdong was born in 1969, graduated from Northwestern University of Technology, graduated from Tsinghua University.
He joined Huawei in 1993 and has served as 3G Product Director, Vice President of Wireless Product Marketing, President of wireless product line, President of the European Division, President of Strategy and Marketing, Chairman of The Terminal Company and CEO of Consumer BG.
