Retro console maker My Arcade announced its latest portable handheld device on Monday, media outlet Techspot reported. Super Retro Champ is designed to read all the collection straps since the 16-bit era, including Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, as well as Super Famicom and Mega Drive variants.
The handheld device features a 7-inch display and can provide up to 5 hours of game time on a single charge. Players can use it as a real handheld computer, or they can play in desktop mode with two wireless gamepads. With HDMI output, players can even connect their handhelds to their tvs for instant games.
My Arcade also includes a built-in cassette cleaning kit. However, the system cannot provide any on-board memory or memory card slots. Super Retro Champ is a follow-up to the company’s original Retro Champ, and you might guess that Super Retro Champ can play NES and Famicom straps without the need for a traditional console. The system is priced at $79.99, but it appears to be out of stock.
Super Retro Champ will launch later this year, with a suggested retail price of $109.99.
