Senheiser, Continental build new in-vehicle audio system: no body speakers required

Now cars are becoming more advanced, almost like a smartphone with wheels, media reported. Especially with the advent of all-electric or hybrid cars, smart car systems and the upcoming 5G, modern cars offer drivers and passengers almost a new experience, except on the one hand — audio. Audio is still delivered using traditional speaker systems, but sound expertSenheiser and automotive technology company Continental are working together to change that, and their new immersive audio system will turn the entire car into a speaker.

It is reported that the mainland’s Ac2ated sound system by stimulating and vibrating the different surfaces of the car to eliminate the need for physical speakers. With Ac2ated Sound technology, car parts such as A-pillars, door trims, roof linings and frames can be turned into speakers that vibrate to make sounds at different frequencies. This can provide a more immersive audio experience for people in the car.

However, this is only half the story, the other half from Senheiser’s AMBEO Mobility software. Not only does this technology calibrate and fine-tune sound quality, but its spatialalgorithms can also analyze any audio being played and decide how and where best to deliver sound through the Ac2ated sound system.

Such a way to eliminate traditional speakers is especially significant for electric vehicles, because in addition to reducing component costs, it can also reduce the overall amount of the car, which is an important factor to consider.

It is reported that the two companies will be in Las Vegas this week at CES to show the future of the audio system.
