“High-end Chromebook” has become one of the key words for CES this year. In addition to Samsung’s Galaxy Chromebook, Asus has also unveiled its new Chromebook Flip C436. Samsung has a brighter, bolder red, while Asus Chromebook uses a more traditional color scheme – silver and white.
Asus teks a 14-inch screen with 1080P, and an ultra-narrow 4.6mm bezel increases the screen share to 85 percent, The Asus said. The C436 is 13.7mm thick and weighs 2.4 lbs. The C436 features an Intel 10th generation Intel processor with the highest optional Core i7-10510U processor.
Like the Galaxy Chromebook, the C436 offers consumers a rich mix of storage and memory configurations. The C436 can choose 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR3 memory, up to 512GB of M.2 SSD. The machine is equipped with a 42WHr battery, which Asus officials say can provide up to 12 hours of mixed use. The company also said the Core i5 and Core i7 models will also be validated by Intel Project Athena.
The C436 is a 2-in-1 Chromebook, which means the screen supports touch and stylus. On the port side, two USB 3.2 Type-Cs, a microSD card slot with up to 2TB card support, and a combined audio jack, the C436 will also support Wi-Fi 6.
Asus officials have not announced the timing and price of the Chromebook C436.
