On Monday, local time, Ford became Agility Robotics’ first commercial customer, media reported. The car company will solve the last mile of its delivery service with the Digit robot developed by the latter. But ford still needs a lot of testing and research work before it is put into service. Both companies said they would continue to explore technology to understand how Digit robots and Ford’s self-driving cars will talk and learn about their surroundings.
Next, they will create a communication channel between self-driving cars and robotic delivery men, which in turn will block redundant information.
Although Ford currently owns two Digit robots, it and Agility plan to show two more pre-production robots at CES.
