The feature called “Writing Canvas” has been introduced in the latest Windows 10 Mail app (version number 16005.12427.41000.0),media winBuzzer reported. This feature can be found in the top menu bar “Draw” close to the existing feature “Drawing Canvas”, but it is not yet effective.
If Drawing Canvas allows users to doodle drawings with a stylus, mouse, or touch, “Writing Canvas” believes it should allow users to use the stylus for handwriting input and then automatically recognize and convert it to digital text. The new feature may be being developed for dual-screen devices such as Surface Neo.
Windows 10 Mail is one of the few UWP apps to receive frequent updates from Microsoft and is believed to play a bigger role in the upcoming Windows 10X system. Before Surface Neo was released, the app now added touch and stylus-friendly features, which didn’t surprise us at all.
